Signs the controller screen needs replacing
- Cracks or deep scratches across the glass.
- Lines, patches or dead pixels in the picture.
- A screen that stays black, although the controller powers on.
- A display that flickers or turns on and off.
If the controller does not power on at all, the screen is not always the cause, so check the battery and charging first.
What the screen part is

Fitting tips
- Switch the controller off and work on a clean, soft surface.
- Open it carefully and keep the screws in order.
- Release the flat cable latches gently. The cable is thin and tears easily.
- Fit the new screen, reconnect the cable and test the picture before closing the controller.
If you are not comfortable opening electronics, take the controller and the part to a repair shop; the job is quick for someone who has done it before.
